Today several blind styles including the faux wood blinds can be custom cut to any width.
Levolor blinds often come in odd number widths such as 31, 33, 35, 37 and 39 inches. If your window is 30" or 36" we have a problem.
Occasionally I have clients who are bringing special window coverings with them or who have a particular style in mind that can’t be custom cut. If it’s a deal breaker, I need those desired window measurements in advance.
Often my clients will find a particular floor plan they want but have to wait until one becomes available in the condition and price that suits them. In this case we measure all the windows and I send them to look at window coverings to see if they can find a style and width (and length) that will work for them.
The big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s can special order blinds. There are also brands available online that aren’t available in stores.
As more and more houses high ceilings the so-called up/down blinds have grown in popularity. The ability to lower the blind from the top maintains privacy and reduces the amount of ultra-violet rays beating down on your wood flooring, furniture and decorative items. This can be especially important on west facing windows.

I have several decorators as part of my team. They are available to my clients for complimentary consultations. Call me at 281-704-0641 or email me at dg93@sbcglobal.net for further details.
